Pride And Prejudice, written by Jane Austen, is a great book about a woman who faces problems about morality, pride, and education; all of these are spiced-up by the obsession for marriage the women in the book seem to have, which is standard for the time. Girls will find this great book, published in 1813, a smart and sometimes comical story. Every girl will see herself in one of the young women depicted in this highly recommended book for girls.

The Devil Wears Prada is not really a classic, but it is still a great book for girls. The book is written by Lauren Weisberger and it can be described as a very funny and realistic book. It deals with snobbery in the fashion world and it had a big success when it was published in 2003. It was actually on the New York Times bestseller list, where it stayed for six months. The book is entertaining and absorbing, so it’s no wonder it was a New York Times favourite.

Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë is another wonderful book any girl should have on her bookshelf. The book was published in 1847 and it’s a great passionate love story written in a remarkable way. As you probably guessed, the author is related to Charlotte Brontë, who wrote Jane Eyre; nowadays, both books are considered classics.
