When I was young, I loved to read; I got a lot of information from books, information that I couldn’t get otherwise. This is why I have put together my top five educational books for your kids.
Math Doesn't Suck: How to Survive Middle School Math Without Losing Your Mind or Breaking a Nail by Danica McKellar is a book that promotes math to girls. The book teaches girls how to approach math and why math is important. The great thing about this book is that it doesn’t follow the trend of only teaching girls how to do their nails or how to flirt; it actually promotes education. It was published in 2008 and it can be a good gift for your girl who has trouble understanding math.
Essentials of Human Anatomy & Physiology by Elaine Nicpon Marieb reveals the wonders of the human body. The book uses helpful illustrations and explains everything in language that is easy to understand. The book was published in 1999 and can be a helpful gift for those thinking of going to medical school.
Biology: Life On Earth by Teresa Audesirk et al is a collection of educational lessons on biology. This is a top quality book for kids who want to know more about animals or who are having problems in biology class. It not only helps children understand things in a logical way, but also comes with a lot of images and helpful tips. Published in 2004, this book is in its 7th edition and still continues to be a favorite biology book.
The Story of the World: History for the Classical Child: Ancient Times: Tests and Answer Key (Vol. 1) by Susan Wise Bauer and Elizabeth Rountree is for children passionate about history. A well-written book, with interesting detail, The Story of the World is good reading material for early grades; it will help your kid build their history knowledge at an early age. The book was published in 2007.
The Usborne Complete Book of Art Ideas (Usborne Art Ideas) by Fiona Watt is for children showing interest in arts and crafts. Something I wish I had when I was little, this book would have probably helped me develop a career in design. The book is a useful guide for a child with a creative mind. Published in 2005, it comes with ideas on paintings, drawing, and even collage, and provides a lot of creative tips and guidance about using different craft materials.
