A good vocabulary helps in all spheres of life. When you are student, a good vocabulary helps you to score better in competitive vocabulary tests like the GRE. When you are in business, a good vocabulary helps you communicate clearly with your clients. Many people want to build a better vocabulary but do not take any steps toward improving their vocabulary because they think vocabulary-building is too time-consuming. The sites send you not just a word but they also send your synonyms, antonyms, and sentences using these words. The best part about subscribing to such websites is that you need not go around looking for new words!

Yet another interesting way to build vocabulary is to use vocabulary flash cards. You can build your own vocabulary flash cards. Write down a new word and the meaning on a card. You can keep building up such cards with new words. Make the cards small enough to go into your pocket. Carry these cards wherever you go and keep looking at them whenever you can – when you are waiting for the bus, having a coffee, or traveling in a train. It will help you learn new words and remember them.

If you are a voracious reader, keep a pencil and notebook handy whenever you are reading. Write down words that you feel are new. Incorporate these methods into your daily routine and you will achieve a better vocabulary in less time than you think.
