WHO is behind this site?
An initiative of Australian company Serenson Pty Ltd

Serenson Pty Ltd runs this site. Serenson is the sister company to our main commercial arm, the multi-award winning Research One Pty Ltd. The site was put together by Fabian Serena. Troy Simpson markets the website (in his spare time). We contracted people to help us with the website: Rob Morris at Digitalmash designed the site; Patrick Marris created "Ed" and created other characters; Denise Sutherland provided the original artwork for our free ecards and created our puzzles and silly stories; and Buchanan Law provided legal advice and other legal services.

IS Serenson a business or a not-for-profit?
A different kind of business

Serenson is a business, but it's a different kind of business. Serenson uses a business structure, and this site makes some money through advertising. Soon, we will be using this site to sell our own editing software. But much of the revenue goes straight back into this website, so that we can continually improve the site. Serenson has no paid-employees. And our main goal is altruistic. We genuinely want to improve people's English writing skills. That's why we have, in the past, provided free editing and why we will use this site to showcase not only our own products but also the products of our "competitors". At Serenson, you decide which product is best for you. You remain in control.

WHO is Ed Serenson?
The "public face" of Serenson

Ed Serenson is the fictional owner of this site. "Ed" is short for "Editor". We wanted to present a single identity to be the "face" of this site, especially for younger users, so we came up with Ed. "Ed" is a group of volunteers who we have authorized to publish under Ed's name. Ed's alter egos are professional writers, editors, and plain legal language practitioners. Because "Ed" is not paid, we share responsibility for posting under Ed's name, but we make sure Ed's alter egos collaborate.
