01 Nominate a website
Only members of Write Better English (WBE) can nominate a website for a WBE award. You can join WBE, 100% FREE. If you are a member and you want to nominate a website, then email us the URL and we will assess the website. You are welcome to nominate your own website.
02 Eligibility
Websites can be on almost any subject. But we do not give awards to pornographic, gambling, or illegal websites. Websites can be from any country, but the website must be in English.
03 No entry fee
There is no fee to nominate a website or to be considered for our awards. We charge you nothing to display our award if you win.
04 Acknowledgement
Given the large number of nominations, we are unlikely to acknowledge nominations or to notify unsuccessful award entrants.
05 Judging
We assess websites for the "WBE compliant" award throughout the year. All websites that have been assessed as "WBE compliant" in a month are eligible to be named the WBE website of that month. The "WBE website of the month" is judged at the beginning of the next month.
All websites that win the "WBE website of the month" during the year are eligible for the "WBE website of the year". We judge the "WBE website of the year" at the beginning of the next year.
Each website is graded on a scorecard. We grade several criteria, from one point to five points. Only we (Serenson Pty Ltd) get to decide how well a website meets the criteria. No correspondence will be entered into. If no website meets our standards, we may withhold the award.
06 Fraud
We publish the winners of all the WBE awards on our WBE winners page. So, if you see a website that displays one of our awards, you should trust only banners that link to the winners page. Contact us if you suspect a website is fraudulently displaying a WBE award.
07 Banners must include a link to this page
We charge nothing for nominating, being nominated, or winning a WBE award. But if you win a WBE award and choose to display the award on your website, you must link the award back to our winners page, so that people know you really have won the award.
08 Must not alter our banners
If you win an award, you must not alter the banner we give you, without our permission.
09 Notification of winners
We will tell you if you have won an award. We will publish your website as a winning website unless you email us that you do not want us to link to your site.
10 Right to withdraw award
We can withdraw permission to display our banners if we think your website has fallen behind the standards we applied when we chose you as a winner. You must remove the banner if we ask you to.
